Wanna Laugh Wednesday??

Hey all!!  Thanks so much for your kind comments yesterday. I'm still not 100% out of my funk but I did say "No" 3 times today, so I'm doing good so far. And my hair is still looking fantastic today thankyouverymuch...

So, in need of a laugh today, I printed the picture below out and put it on my "workstation" wall!!  This is from my girls trip to Mexico  - if you remember a few blogs back where I spoke of this trip, you'll remember that we were deep in the "Tropical Depression Alex" storm...  well, we didn't let the red-flag warning

stop us from hitting the beach but the only trouble is, my friends TMac and Shannon ended up floating a little further off than expected and rolled right up into a wedding.. Luckily, our friend AJ caught it on camera. It makes me laugh EVERYTIME I see it!!  So, thanks to my friends for giving us a laugh at their expense.

See ya'll tomorrow!

Saying it best by saying nothing at all...

Hey all - serious funk going on here which is why I've been M.I.A. from blog-world.  Just don't have much to say since nothing seems to be going my way (rhymes!) with this lap band o'mine. I'm over being frustrated that no matter how much I work out and eat decent, the scale doesn't move.  My clothes are all much looser and that's the only way I know that anything is working.

Plus, I'm super irritated with my work-life right now. I'm done being the one that helps out EVERYONE all the while getting nothing in return. I've spent the majority of my day so far doing someone else's work. And it's starting to creep into my real life too. Sick of being walked all over and taken advantage of. Just sick of it all.  I'm definitely a YES man who needs to learn to say NO!

Got my hairs cut this weekend and LOVE it.  Here are some pics.

sorry for the debbie downer post..  hope you are all well.

Wet, Wild and SO much fun!!!!

Today was the BEST day!!!  Tim and I were sitting trying to come up with something "different" to do this weekend, since the majority of our weekends consist of the same old thing - hanging in the pool, eating out, etc..  and it's hotter than balls outside. So, today, I threw away my modesty and put on my suit and this chubby chick hit the WATER PARK!!!  Who knew we had a waterpark within 15 minutes from our house!!! It was soo fun!!! We just left our clothes in our car and headed in.  In the past, I would NEVER have done that, but today, I didn't care.  I looked at the signs and smiled everytime I was under the weight limit.. much under.  We went from ride to ride, laughing and screaming and falling out of the rafts.. it was by far one of the best days I've had with the hubs in a really long time.  I didn't feel self-conscious at all (although I did glance once at my reflection and this body still needs a lot of work.. )

Not only was it fun, it was good exercise too.  Every ride had a huge staircase leading up to it.  Towards the end, I didn't think my legs could take it anymore. Did I mention I also did the hardest Zumba class ever this morning? I knew it was hard but when my friend Julie, who is an ex-professional dancer said it was tough, I knew it was a killer. So, yeah, my legs are hating me right now.

Yesterday I started my "training" for the 1/2 that the Jens signed me up for.  The RUN/WALK 1/2...  I walked 3.5 miles after working out with Kathi.  And, then proceeded to slime all day long.  I have a horrible sinus head cold and I think the mucous is messing with my band. Oh and I woke up weighing 3 lbs more than I did yesterday.. pardon my french.. but WHAT.THE.FUCK?????  I'm back down now but who the heck knows what's going on with me.. this band sure is a mystery.

Hope you all had a great weekend!!!

Five Point Friday..

Hey all!! Happy Weekend!!!

1.  No plans for this weekend!!  Love that!  I will most likely sit on my floatie in my pool, working on my savage tan.

2.  I know I haven't spoken about it since the day I wrote a whole blog on the subject, but yes, my Brother-in-Law is still living with us. It's still not going well. But I have a light at the end of the tunnel. I told him last weekend he needs to be out by October 1st. I'm buying his ticket home this weekend. I think that timing is more than generous.  He of course said he felt like I gave him an ultimatum, to which I replied, "you are right.. I did... "  I don't care what he or any of his family thinks about me anymore.. I just want my regular life back.  Tim is totally in agreeance with me which is good. We will see if he even makes it to 10/1 since he now knows I don't care for him and am just living with this situation to appease my husband.

3.  My girlfriends, the Jens, are crazy!!! They signed me up to do a 1/2 marathon with them. I, of course, will be walking it with one of the Jens.. but they gave me a training schedule and everything. I have until November to figure out how to get out of this nonsense.

4.  Our plans to go to Michigan in a couple of weeks have been canceled.  The flights were way too expensive and considering we are going in December for Christmas as well as potentially moving sometime this year, it just didn't make any sense to spend that much money to go for 3 days. Plus, with my recent travel debacles, I'm good not spending an entire day to get somewhere.  I'll miss my family for sure though!!

5. I've got to figure out what's going on with my weight/band... it's making me go a little crazy. I have been having trouble keeping things down since Mexico and my weight is not budging.  I'm usually a slow loser but this is ridiculous.  I can't get into the dr until the 27th, which blows.

Hope you all have a great weekend!!!

How I See It..

Hey all -
I was just looking at a pic of myself from this weekend and I have to say, I'm proud to say that I don't hate my arms in this pic.  In the past, I would never allow a picture of myself with bare arms, but now, I know that I've worked hard to not have my arms totally resemble a chunky thigh...   they have a ways to go, but so far, they aren't all that bad.

I know that I need to be not so hard on myself but it's hard!!!  I get so completely frustrated when I haven't lost anything in a few weeks (I'm down only around 7 lbs in around 2 months.. remember me, SLOW LOSER?? ) but I need to realize "what's the rush"??  I know eventually I'll get to my goal, whatever that may be. I admit I get a little jealous when I read about someone who is losing really consistently or someone who is starting out at what I consider to be a good goal weight FOR ME..  I'm super stoked for them, but a little part of me wants to figure out how they are doing it and why can't I??

Just some things I was thinking about today..  total waste of a blog topic, but I wanted to share...

MORE PICS!!! Aren't you lucky!!! These are from the 4th!!  Enjoy! (Thanks Michelle for letting me steal these from your blog!!!)
LOVE KD's face in this one.. you think she was over getting her picture taken??

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale... (aka the blog about Mexico).. UPDATED with a Bandster Meeting!!

Ladies (and gents..) it's time, it's time to talk about Mexico...  I think that I've had enough time to decompress and get my thoughts on the trip in order for a blog..

Let me preface this blog by mentioning that I must have said multiple times "this is so blogworthy!"..  yes, my friends, even when out of town, I think of you all!!!

* The Weather: In a word:  SHITTY..  we were very unaware that while we were down there, we were in the midst of Tropical Storm/Depression "Alex" (which later became Hurricane Alex)... seriously, it was hotter than H-E-L-L... I'm from AZ and even I thought it was hot. I believe that the words "Oppressive" kept coming to mind.  There was nary a moment that I wasn't sweating..  The only place you could get comfort from the heat was in your room, which were the only places that had A/C.  We ate in the heat, we drank in the heat, we walked in the heat, we danced in the heat... heat, heat, everywhere...  You would think I would have lost more weight.

*The Resort:  Lush, Huge, Nice..  we did not get to see much because of the rain, but what we saw, it was nice.  They had it seperated into 5 different resorts, ranging from one step up from a hostel to the grand poohbah of resorts (they had lots of A/C by the way) we wanted to do this trip on a budget so we were in the lower of the range on the resort (apparently poor people don't need A/C..)

*The Food:  meh...  Antonio was NOT a fan.  He would tighten right up first thing in the morning and not budge for most of the time we were there. I spent many a morning in the bathroom..  it was not pleasant.  I finally by the end figured out what I could eat and it wasn't much... AGAIN, why I did not lose more weight is a mystery

*The booze:  aflowing.. I had more then enough beer and champagne to last me for the next 6 months or until my next trip (which by the way will be within the contingious USA since this chick will not be traveling internationally for some time.)

*The Passport Incident:   I shared a room with Angela and Shannon - on Sunday, Angela could not find her passport. It was stolen from the room. Now, let me say that Angela was probably the worst person to have this happen to. she was already pretty leery of everything re: Mexico traveling.  But this girl handled this situation like a champ!!!  She and I got up on Monday morning and hit the road to Cancun to try to obtain a new passport.  We literally did all this blind b/c the hotel staff could not have been less helpful. It was ridiculous. We hit the US Embassy some 70 miles away in Cancun and had ourselves a little adventure.  Pictures are below.. it was one of the most hilarious times I've ever spent with anyone.

**Getting STUCK in Mexico:  so apparently no good deed goes unpunished b/c the girl who lost her passport was promptly on a flight back to LA the next day and I was not.  We got to the airport around noonish and my flight was scheduled to leave around 4:15.  When we got there, they said it would be delayed for about 2 hours due to "mechanical issues".. no biggie..  then as the day went on, the hours delayed kept getting longer and longer..  after seeing everyone off and sitting by myself at the airport for a good 6 hours, they finally canceled due to "the weather".. tears started flowing at that point.  They put us up at a nearby hotel and I finally left late the next day and spent another 8 hours getting home (my original flight was non-stop and the one I ended up on was pretty much all over the country)  Needless to say, US Airways got a piece of my mind once I returned..  they called it "weather" b/c they didn't want to have to compensate anyone as they would have if it was purely mechanical.

*The FRIENDS: phenomenal... I love my girls. Even with all the issues (the weather, the loss of a passport, getting stuck in the country, etc.. ) we laughed and laughed and laughed. When I'm with them, I feel like I'm home. Most of them got to the resort early and I was one of the last two to arrive and when they spied me from across the lobby you would have thought Madonna was walking in. (the screaming) . it was so amazing to see their response to me and my newish self... if I had doubted that I had changed or looked different, all doubt was gone as I was hugging them and they were all complimenting me.

If you have hung on long enough, here are some pictures of the trip. Don't mind the pulled back sweaty hair!!!
I have a lot of catching up to do and hope to do it some this week!!! Hope you are all well!!

Back from Mexico...

Hi all - have missed reading your blogs and apparently I missed ALOT!!!!
I'm back from Mexico and will have a huge blog to write later but right now, I'll just leave you with a couple of bullets...

*  I will never travel to Mexico again (and possibly never internationally as well - and I'm not exaggerating!!)
*  I have no desire to be stranded in Mexico again
*  The US Embassy in Cancun is actually rather pleasent
*  I hate Tropical Storm Alex (now Hurricane Alex)
*  Antonio does not prefer Mexico either
*  Riviera Maya is like being on Survivor but with free food and drink
*  My girlfriends make me laugh more than anything on this planet
*  If you ever doubt you are not losing weight, go see your besties for the first time in 7 months and see what kind of crazy reaction you get!!!

Ok, will post more with pictures later.  It was an adventure to say the least...

xoxoxo, js
