1. So, I re-read last week's 10 things and whoa, I was pissed. I was pissed that I felt so bad two weeks out from surgery and still feeling like shit. Well, this week, I'm feeling much better so that bitterness seems to be waning a bit.
2. Thanks for the comments and support. Especially regarding my aversion to anything surgical at the time. I know that my mind will change eventually. Even today, when I went in for my weekly check-in, I asked some sleeve questions and my NP gave me a surprised look like "oh, miss I'm never having another surgery again now wants to ask some questions!" I'm not committing to anything, just asking some questions. Besides, I've still got quite a few months of insurance approval hoops to jump through.
3. I think if I do go forward with the sleeve, I may be more discreet this time. I was telling my friend that now that I don't have my lapband, I feel like my world is watching me closely, waiting to see if I gain weight back again. It may be all in my head but I feel more pressure now that I DON'T have a lapband to lose weight than when I did have one. strange.
4. One thing I'm enjoying now that Antonio is out of the picture is eating salads again. I could never eat salads or lettuce, with the exception of cole slaw. I ALWAYS got stuck. I'm eating a crap ton of salads now and enjoying every minute of it!
5. I'm also eating a lot of carbs lately, which I need to curb before I start packing on the lbs, which thanks to the horrible antibiotics I was on for 2 weeks, I'm still not packing on the lbs b/c my stomach still doesn't feel 100% right.
6. I cannot wait to start working out. Before this most recent disaster occurred, I was on a work out hiatus b/c I had 2 bulging discs which were causing sharp shooting pains and numbness in my right leg. I had just started PT when I had surgery so I've had to take a break from PT until I could lay on my stomach. I go back next week so hopefully within a couple of weeks, I'll be back to working out.
7. Mac and I are going to Atlanta this weekend for a quick weekend trip to see my brother and family. My nephew is turning 17 AND going to prom all on the same day. So, we are excited to get to be part of that.
8. Mac is at an age where he's saying the most random things like "sometimes I love you and sometimes I don't" when I asked him why, he said "b/c sometimes you make me nervous..." UM WTF?? I have no idea where that comes from. I asked him what he meant by that and he said " I don't know.. maybe Frieda (the dog) makes me nervous and you and daddy don't." lord help me if I'm raising a nervous nancy like myself.
9. I don't think I have 10 things, just wanted to check in. Hope you are all doing well and thanks again for checking in on me via FB or commenting on here!

10 Things Thursday (the Antonio is a real douchebag version)
I've been wanting to write this blog for a little over a week but just haven't found the time nor the time awake to do it!
1. Had my lapband removal surgery on Friday, March 27th. Was supposed to be quick in and out procedure with potential to have to stay overnight just for observation.
2. When I "came to" the doctor said they removed the band, BUT, they found a significant hole that the band was covering up but once removed, they could see it.
3. They repaired the hole and I stayed in the hospital for 4 full days.
4. Arriving home from the hospital, I looked like I had literally been hit by a bus. The number of bruises, scars etc that I have that are still completely visible today is crazy.
5. On Wednesday of last week, I noticed that one of my incisions (where the band actually came out) was really red, puffy and hot. Went to Dr. Yep, super infection. They opened me up there at the doctor to drain the infection and left the wound open to heal. I get to pack it 2x a day until it closes up. The first few days I would literally almost vomit at the thought that I was packing a wound and having to take care of it myself. I'm now a Wound Professional. I can pack that baby in like 4 minutes flat.
6. The anti-biotics they gave me were so strong that I was nauseous for the first few days that I barely ate anything. BONUS: I lost 10 lbs last week.
7. The anti-biotics also caused wierd side effects like hallucinations. I would close my eyes and it was like a party going on in my head. Was frightening.
8. I reached the lowest low on Friday when I just got so overwhelmed and desperate to feel better. I ended up having to take a Xanaz b/c I could not catch my breath and started to have a panic attack.
9. On Saturday, my friends showed up and didn't leave. It's amazing how much my spirit raised. I'm generally the positive person and when I say I was down in the dumps, I was DOWN.IN.THE.DUMPS!
10.. I'm currently in the insurance process for approval for the sleeve. At this point, I cannot see myself getting another surgery. Maybe my mind will change once I feel better but considering everything I've been through, I'll need a lot of convincing.
I was a perfect band patient. Never had any issues. Followed the rules 85% of the time. My band didn't fail me for 4 1/2 years but then something just happened. It sucks. I used to love Antonio. Now, he's just a fucker. Good riddance.
